By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 21: Coronatantra, a novel by Rabindra Sameer, has been published. It is Sameer's 13th work and second novel. It contains 101 short stories.
"It is a formulaic fiction with stories of separate themes.
They are strung by the time of a thread," said Sameer, who has carved his distinct identity in the realm of Nepali literature for the last 30 years.
Sameer has been honoured with over a dozen national and international awards, including Padmshree Puraskar, Uttamsanti Puraskar, Yuba Barsha Moti Puraskar and Nepal Bidhyabhusan.
Published by the Indigo Ink, the book deals with the fears, rumours, uncertainty of treatment, scarcity of beds and oxygen, disinformation about vaccines and mental problem, which swept the nation following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fiction has gained further weightage with the use of proverbs and classical remarks.
Like in autocracy, the unseen virus ruled over the nation, inflicting unbearable pain on the life of people, said the novelist, adding that it would serve as a live document of the pandemic days.
