23 muzzle loaders recovered in Rukum East

By Our Correspondent,Rukum East, Mar. 13: Police have recovered 23 unclaimed muzzle loaders in the district in one month.  Deputy Superintendent of Police Anjana Shrestha said that in the last week of February, police had first seized two muzzle loaders from Sishne Rural Municipality along with two persons. 

The two men are now facing court cases in the district, she said. 

"On Sunday alone, we again found 10 home-made guns from Sishne Rural Municipality," DSP Shrestha said. 

Similarly, 11 others were found in different forest areas of Sishne and Bhume Rural Municipalities, according to police.  

Of them, three were found in a forest of Bhume Rural Municipality, six in the same municipality on different dates, and two other in Sishne-5, according to police.  

Police said that they could not find out any clue the persons and reasons for keeping guns. 

The police said that the guns were found when a special task force was on the way and the locals had reported them about the unattended firearms.
