By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 9: For the first time in the history of the national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), an all-women cockpit and cabin crew flew and landed the flight RA 230 from Dubai to Kathmandu on the occasion of International Women's Day, Wednesday.
The Commanding Pilot on the flight was Bhavana Giri Pant while the co-pilot was Srijana Rawat. Similarly, Basna Rana was the senior flight attendant, Anjak Maharjan was the flight purser and Sangeeta KC and Anisha Prajapati were the hostesses.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati and Executive Chairman of NAC Yubaraj Adhikari received the successful crew at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.
The Corporation presently has nine female pilots and 96 female cabin crew members.
On Sunday, NAC’s flight from Kathmandu to Dubai became the Corporation’s first-ever international flight piloted by two women. Those history-making pilots were also Pant and Rawat.
