Police arrest one absconded detainee, five still at large

By Bijay Kumar Sah, Dhalkebar, Jan.31: The police have arrested one of the six detainees that fled under the custody of the Mahendranagar Area Police Office of Dhanusha district located at the Kshireshwornath Municiaplity-5, on Sunday night. The arrested fugitive has been identified as Roshan Mahato. 

Pradeep Kumar Chhetri, Spokesperson, also, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Mahendranagar Area Police Office of Dhanusha district said that the absconded Mahato, who was hiding in his relative's home in Kushumbichhauna, Mithila Municipality-8, Dhanusha, was arrested on Monday evening. He was convicted for the possession of illegal weapons and was made public in a press brief on January 26.

According to DSP Chhetri, a total of six detainees had escaped from the Mahendranagar Area Police Office of Dhanusha district after breaking up the boundary walls on Sunday around 3 PM. After the escape, the joint search operation for the fled prisoners was held by the Mahendranagar Area Police Office of Dhanusha district and Madhesh Province Police Office leading to the arrest of Roshan Mahato on Monday evening. 

He said, "The search operation of the other five absconded detainees is going on rapidly."

The two on-duty police officers were immediately suspended after six detainees escaped under their noses.
