Implementation of 'Study report of freed Kamaiya, Kamlahari, Haruwa-charuwa situation' demanded

Kathmandu, Aug 22 : Implementation of ' Study report on the situation of freed Kamaiya, Kamlahari and Haruwa-charge-2079'has been demanded.   

 
Saying the freed hardware-charuwa, Kamiya and Kalahari have not been rehabilitated yet, Rashtriya Dalit Network (RDN) Nepal, demanded implementation of the report.    

The Kamaiya, Kalahari, and Haruwa-charge are the traditional indentured bonded labor practices that have been already abolished.   

 
The study committee formed under the coordination of Constituent Assembly member Shyam Shrestha had recently submitted the report to the government.    

Issuing a press release today, RDN has stressed the need of completing the task of collecting data of freed hardware charge before the coming election by forming an implementation mechanism.     

The press release reads, "We call on leaders of freed hardware-charuwa, Aaliyah or Kamiya and Kalahari movement to involve in the rehabilitation movement strongly as like before."    

The organization was established on 22 August 2000 under the main slogan, "Next Nepal without untouchability and racial discrimination is possible, Let's build it" for a long-term solution to the problems of Dalit. (RSS)
