PM Deuba condoles demise of Hajjin Safina Khatun

Kathmandu, August 2: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed sorrow over the demise of Hajjin Safina Khatuns, mother of Nepali Congress (NC)'s central member Abdul Sattar. 

Sattar's 94-year-old mother died at Narayani Community Hospital in Chitwan on Monday during treatment. She was suffering from asthma. 

PM Deuba, in a condolence message issued by NC's central office's chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel on his behalf here today, expressed deep sorrow over Khatun's death.

Offering heartfelt tributes to late Khatun, the NC President prayed for her eternal peace and extended condolences to the bereaved family members.

Late Khatun had played an active role in the democratic movement of Nepal. "NC has lost a leading figure in Khatun's demise," Deuba said in the message. (RSS)
