Roadside clearing campaign in Inaruwa starts with bulldozing Koshi Provincial Minister’s residence

By Jaya Krishna Yadav, Inaruwa, April 10: Mayor of the Inaruwa Municipality, Kedar Bhandari, has started the 'Roadside clearing campaign' along the East-West Highway.  

Mayor has started to demolish structures built illegally on public roads. 

Chief of Municipality launched a Roadside clearing campaign to clear the roadside by driving a bulldozer in front of the house of Minister for Industry, Agriculture and Cooperatives of Koshi Province, Israil Mansuri, as the roadside has been encroaching on the road by building a structure in front of his house for years.

He said that the campaign had been initiated after failing to assert the demolition of the illegally built structures even after the repetitive extension period of 35 days, 15 days, seven days, three days.

He said that the Inaruwa Municipality office was forced to launch a campaign to clear the encroached roadside after repeated public notices were ignored for three years.

The municipal team, including Mayor Kedar Bhandari, has taken to the streets with a dozer, saying that the roadside was not cleared even after the notice was issued.

The mayor, in the presence of the city police and security agencies, has taken forward the work of clearing the roadside.

The municipality said that it expects the help of the locals to keep the municipality clean. 

Believing that people will themselves initiate to remove their illegally built structures in the encroached road space, a notice was issued; however, it was ignored time and again, forcing us to come onto the road and use a bulldozer. 

Regarding the first time a dozer was used on a shed in front of his own house, Koshi Province Government Minister for Industry, Agriculture, and Cooperatives, Israil Mansuri, responded that a shed in front of his house was demolished because it could not be demolished in time.

He has urged everyone to vacate the pavement. 

He said that he had no objection to the demolition of a shed in front of his house, and said that the shed was built when a wide road was not needed.  This step is appreciated as it makes the campaign run by the municipality successful.
