Nagarkot, July 21 : Hotels being operated in popular tourism destination Nagarkot has been classified.
The Food Technology and Quality
Control Division Office Dhulikhel has classified standards of the hotels and
also provided them with logos accordingly.
Among 30 hotels physically
inspected, two hotels were classified as 'outstanding' and provided with a
'green' sticker.
Likewise, only one hotel classified as the 'best' was also given a green sticker. Four hotels categorized as
'moderate' were provided with green stickers while 23 hotels classified as
'satisfactory' were tagged yellow.
Food Inspector Atis Ghimire
informed that classification was made based on the applications received as per
the Hotel, Restaurant Standardization Directive, 2074, Annex 1.
A team comprising office
representatives, local elected representatives, hotel entrepreneurs, and
office-bearers of Nagarkot Naldum Tourism Development Committee carried out
monitoring of hotels in Nagarkot based on 50 indicators of sanitation and
hygiene.
On the occasion, hotel
entrepreneurs had made a commitment to maintaining food hygiene. He said progress
monitoring would be made after six months and a level would be reduced if the
reforms were not found as committed in the progress monitoring. (RSS)
