Prachanda likely to contest election from Rukum East
Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that he will contest the upcoming election from Rukum East. Addressing a Unity Message Assembly held at Barahatakura of Musikot Municipality-1, Rukum West, on Saturday, former Prime Minister Prachanda said he had made up his mind to contest the election from Rukum to remain closely connected with the local people.
NC leaders in marathon talks before Special Convention
The Nepali Congress is heading into a decisive moment as its second Special General Convention is all set to begin on Sunday amid open resistance from party president Sher Bahadur Deuba and other leaders from the establishment faction. The convention, called by General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bisho Prakash Sharma, is being organised based on signatures from a majority of elected general convention delegates.
