USA congratulates RSP on its election victory

Kathmandu, March 25: The US Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs, Sergio Gor, has congratulated Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane.

The US Embassy here stated that Special Envoy Gor called the RSP President on Tuesday and congratulated RSP for its victory in the election.

During the telephone conversation, Gor said that the United States is eager to cooperate with Nepal's new government to strengthen economic partnership and deepen the friendship between the two countries.

In the House of Representatives election held on March 5, RSP secured 182 seats out of 275, with 125 toward the first-past-the-post (direct) election system and 57 toward the proportional category.(RSS)
