By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 8: Nepal clinched Asian Games Men’s Qualifier trophy defeating Hong Kong by 19 runs (DLS method).
Hong Kong set a target of 189 runs in final match against Nepal. Nepal chased the target in 11.3 overs scoring 114 runs with a loss of 2 wickets through DLS method after match halted due to rain.
Player of the match Sher Malla took 4 wickets.
Nizakat Khan scored 2 runs in 5 balls, Anshy Rath scored 80 runs in 45 balls, Shiv Mathur scored 26 balls in 21 balls, Shahid Wasif scored 55 runs in 28 balls, Yasim Murtaza scored 9 runs in 7 balls, Nasrulla Rana scored 8 runs in 5 balls, Hassan Khan Mohammad scored 2 runs in 4 balls.
Karan KC took 2 wickets, Sher Malla took 4 wickets and Sandeep Lamichhane took 1 wicket.
Kushal Bhurtel scored 65 runs in 40 balls, Rohit Paudel scored 35 runs in 24 balls, Captain Dipendra Singh Airee scored 9 runs in 4 balls.
