Kathmandu, May 22: The KIST Teaching Hospital and Medanta Gurugram, India, have collaborated in the specialized and advanced cancer treatment services.
KIST Teaching Hospital has announced that its cancer treatment services are being effectively operated through advanced technology, an experienced team of specialists, and a multidisciplinary approach. The Hospital’s oncology department is led by Professor Dr. Bishnu Dutta Poudel.
According to the Hospital, a strong team of experienced cancer surgeons, oncologists, hematology cancer specialists, and other medical experts has been providing diagnosis, surgery, and treatment services for all types of cancers affecting patients from head to toe.
The KIST Cancer Center has also been offering second opinions and tele-consultation services through telemedicine in collaboration with Medanta Gurugram. The hospital stated that this partnership has played an important role in making international-standard cancer care more accessible to cancer patients in Nepal.
As part of the collaboration, renowned cancer specialist Dr. Satya Pal Kataria from Medanta Gurugram, India, participated as a special guest speaker. In his presence, two important academic and clinical programmes were successfully conducted, the hospital said.
The programmes witnessed notable participation from specialist doctors of KIST Teaching Hospital, along with senior physicians and medical experts from various hospitals and institutions. Discussions focused on the latest advancements in cancer treatment, multidisciplinary management of complex cases, and the importance of international collaboration in healthcare.
