By Our Correspondent,Syangja, May 22: The District Police Office Syangja has introduced a new 'Citizen Facilitator’ service aimed at making public service delivery easier and more efficient for service seekers.
Many visitors to police offices often face confusion about which section to approach, whom to meet, or how to begin official procedures. To address this problem and ensure quicker, more convenient service, the facilitation service has been launched.
A help desk has been set up at the main entrance of the police office, where officers in special uniforms are stationed. Staff designated as ‘Citizen Facilitators’ provide necessary information, guide visitors to the relevant departments, and assist them throughout the service process.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Dadhi Ram Neupane of the District Police Office Syangja said the initiative was introduced to ensure that service receivers do not face unnecessary inconvenience or have to wander inside the office. He said that many citizens, especially first-time visitors, previously felt confused about where to go, but the new system now makes the process easier right from the gate.
According to Inspector Amrit Tripathi, the help desk, operated under the command of a sub-inspector, also assists in drafting applications, explaining complaint registration procedures, informing citizens about required documents, and managing queues.
The service has particularly benefited elderly people, illiterate citizens, and first-time visitors. Local resident Ram Bahadur Roka said earlier visits to the police office were confusing, but the new system now provides clear guidance at the entrance, making the process much smoother.
The police office has stated that it is continuing various reform programmes to make service delivery more transparent, effective, and citizen-friendly, with the aim of strengthening public trust in the police.
