Kathmandu, May 15: The Supreme Court on Friday issued an order to release Jyoti Prakash Pande, Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Investment Mega Bank Ltd.
In response to a habeas corpus writ petition, a division bench of Justices Sharanga Subedi and Shanti Singh Thapa issued the order to release Pande on a bail date.
After CEO Pande was arrested by the Central Bureau of Nepal Police over the Smart Telecom case three days back, Pande's spouse, Niru Dahal, had filed a petition a day later, arguing that he was held illegally.
With this, investigation into Pande would be forwarded without taking him in detention. (RSS)
