Six industries in Simara SEZ kick off production

Birgunj (Parsa), May 6: Six industries located in the Simara Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Bara district begun operation and production. 

Six industries under various blocks covering 343 bighas of land (one bigha is equal to 72,900 sq. ft) out of 833 bigha, have already started production, said Chief of SEZ Authority, Pappu  Giri. Likewise, over a dozen of industries are being established. 

The Pashupati Ceramics Pvt Ltd, Brilliant Shoes Pvt Ltd, Balaji Manufacturing, Nepal Agro Tools, ACM Vehicles and Bio Comp Nepal have entered the production phase, creating jobs for around 700 people in total. 

An industry here has, on average, invested from Rs 2 million to Rs 200 million. The SEZA provides space at a lease rate of Rs five per square kilometre for the industrial operations. 

Block 'A' covers 343 bigha of land while Block 'B' 128 bigha of land. Block 'C' stretches over 49.5 bigha, while Block 'D' 133 bigha and Block 'E' 178.5 bigha of land. (RSS)
