Laligurans Festival, literary gathering held

By Our Correspondent, Pakhribas (Dhankuta), Apr. 27: A literary gathering has been organised at the stone-built Chotlung Park in Basantapur, Laligurans Municipality-3 of Tehrathum. 

The event was held on Saturday, the third day of the Laligurans Festival, organised by Laligurans Municipality from April 23 to 27.At the programme, senior litterateur and writer Upendra Subba, along with local and national poets and writers, recited poems.

 Poets, including Chandra Gurung, Raj Manglak, Pradip Menyangbo, Heman Yatri, Seema Abhash, and Kavita Rai Gaunle, recited their poems. In total, twenty-seven poets and literary figures presented their creations at the gathering.

The participating poets and writers recited poems in various genres. Through poetry, they expressed different events and lived experiences from society.

The poetry not only added to the richness of literature but also strengthened emotional connections. The poets presented themes of love, pain, society and different facets of life through their creations.

The Tinjure Milke Jaljale (TMJ) region, known as the capital of rhododendrons, is home to 28 out of the 32 species of rhododendron found worldwide. Mayor of Laligurans Municipality, Arjun Mabuhang, said that the Laligurans Festival-2083 has been organised with the objective of promoting the natural heritage of the region.

 He added that the literary gathering was also arranged to promote tourism through literature alongside the festival. The event brought together local and national creators in a single event to present their works.

 Mayor Mabuhang further expressed that both the gathering and the festival would contribute significantly to the promotion of domestic and international tourism.
