BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Hetauda, Apr. 27: Significant property damage exceeding Rs. 1.9 million has been reported in Majhgaun, Thaha Municipality-9, due to rainfall accompanied by strong winds.
According to the Bagmati Province Police Office, initial estimates indicate that properties belonging to ten residents, including residential structures and cattle sheds, incurred losses totalling Rs. 1.9 million due to the storm on Friday and Saturday.
The police reported that properties belonging to Karn Balami, such as corrugated sheets, timber, furniture, doors, and windows, as well as stored wheat, paddy, and maize, sustained damages valued at approximately Rs. 1.2 million across two of his houses.
Similarly, Gopal Balami experienced losses of roughly Rs. 100,000 in trusses, corrugated sheets, bricks, and timber. Ghatokap Balami’s sheep and goat shed and residence suffered damages estimated at around Rs. 150,000, while Janak Das Balami’s house roof experienced damage worth Rs. 100,000. Buddhi Bahadur Balami’s house incurred losses of about Rs. 100,000.
Furthermore, Krishna Balami’s house roof and roofing sheets were damaged by Rs. 50,000, Ramesh Balami’s house by Rs. 50,000, Rajan Balami’s goat shed and roofing sheets by Rs. 90,000, Hem Kumari Balami’s house roof by Rs. 40,000, and Om Bahadur Balami’s windows and glass panes by Rs. 25,000, as reported by the police.
