By Chandra Pandak, Taplejung, April 6: Rhododendrons have started blooming in the Tinjure Milke Jaljale (TMJ) area, located at the border of Taplejung, Terhathum, and Sankhuwasabha districts.
With the arrival of the Nepali New Year season, the flowering period for rhododendrons has begun, and forests across the TMJ region are gradually turning vibrant with blooming flowers.
Known as the “capital of rhododendrons,” the TMJ area is one of the major tourist destinations in eastern Nepal. The region is now beginning to attract visitors as the hills and forests start to be covered with colorful rhododendron blossoms.
According to Suraj Ojha, chairperson of the Community Forest Users Federation Nepal, Taplejung chapter, rhododendrons have started blooming throughout the TMJ area.
He said that the forest has already begun to look bright and beautiful with flowers in full bloom in several places.
Ojha added that within the next two weeks, by the first week of Nepali month Baisakh, rhododendrons are expected to bloom across the entire TMJ region, making the forest fully covered with blossoms.
