By Our Correspondent,Dharan, Feb. 5: All preparations have been completed for the 26th International Invitational Budha Subba Gold Cup, organiser informed on Wednesday.
At a press conference, Organiser Dharan Football Club's President Pratap Tamang confirmed that the tournament will begin on 4 February at the stadium in Dharan-16.
To raise awareness about autism and to spread the message of showing love to children with autism, players from both teams will enter the field accompanied by children with autism ahead of the opening match, Tamang announced.
The organisers stated that the opening match will be played between Dharan Football Club and Georgian Club India. A total of 10 teams will take part in the competition: NRT, Church Boys United Club, Satdobato Youth Club, Nepal Police Club, Pokhara’s Laligurans Association, Jhapa XI, Georgian Club India, Royal Thimphu Bhutan and the hosts Dharan Football Club.
The winning team will receive the championship trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 1 million, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs 500,000.
From the two finalists, the best player will be selected and presented with a Dio scooter. Ticket prices have been set at Rs 100 for the pre-quarterfinals, Rs 200 for the semi-finals and Rs 400 for the final.
Students will be charged Rs 50 for the pre-quarterfinals and Rs 100 for the semi-finals, with no concession for the final, the organisers added. At the press conference, the proprietor of Gurung BBQ distributed track suits to the club’s coaches.
