By Phadindra Adhikari, Lekhnath, Jan 4: Two have been arrested with the insas rifle, which was looted during the GenZ protest.
18-year-old Rabi Chaudhary, of having a permanent address at Mahottarai, and currently residing in Nayabazar, Pokhara-9, 18-year-old Raj Kumar of India and currently living in Pokhara-2, have been arrested, according to the District Police Office, Mahottari.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hari Bahadur Basnet of the District Police Office, Kaski, said that based on confidential information that weapons were being hidden, a joint team from the District Police Office, Kaski, and the Ward Police Office, Bagar, arrested two individuals on Monday from Bhimsen Tole, Pokhara–2.
According to DSP Basnet, the two suspects—Chaudhary and Kumar—were arrested along with weapons. On Tuesday, the Kaski District Court granted a six-day extension of their remand for investigation under charges related to illegal possession of arms and ammunition.
During their statements, Chaudhary and Kumar admitted that they had looted the weapons on September 8 during the Gen Z movement, police said.
At that time, protesters had taken control of the District Police Office during the movement and released detainees from police custody as well as prisoners and inmates from the Kaski Prison.
