Kathmandu, Jan 28: The National Human Rights Commission has drawn the attention of the government to save the life of Ajay Sodari, who is on a fast-on-to-death.
Sodari has been on a hunger strike in Kathmandu for the past nine days, putting forth various demands including the release of prisoners of the GenZ movement and the right to vote for Nepalis living abroad.
A press statement issued by the Commission's spokesperson Dr Tikaram Pokharel today said, "The Commission draws the attention of the Government of Nepal to be sensitive to the health condition of the hunger strike participant and take initiatives for effective medical treatment, resolve the problem through dialogue and save his life."
The Commission stated that it conducted a monitoring on January 27 and obtained information about the health condition of Sodari from the doctors deployed to examine him. The monitoring found that Sodari's health condition is deteriorating, with low blood pressure and pulse rate. (RSS)
