Snowfall occurs in Baitadi and Baglung districts

Baitadi, Jan 28: Baitadi district has witnessed a snowfall since early this morning. The upper belt in the district like Sigas, Khodpe, Anarkholi and Dholyamod experienced the heavy snowfall.  

A local Raj Bahadur Ter said the farmers were elated with the snowfall, hoping that it would be beneficial to the winter crops including wheat. However, the normal life has been badly disturbed with the declined temperature with snowfall. 

A news report sent from Dhorpatan of Baglung also informed that higher region in Baglung got a heavy snowfall since last night. The Dhorpatan Valley and its vicinity are covered with snow. Severe cold caused water freeze in the tap. People's mobility is limited by the weather change. 

Nishikhola, Patihalne, Khanikhola and Nisheldhor are blanketed with snow. 

The people here, however, expressed happiness over the snowfall, reasoning that it helps winter crops thrive. (RSS)
