By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 25: The JICA Alumni Association Nepal (JAAN) celebrated its 52nd anniversary holding a ceremony on Saturday.
The celebration also coincided with the 70th years of the diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan.
Addressing the event, Japanese ambassador to Nepal Toru Maeda expressed commitment that Japan would as always continue assistance to Nepal in line with Nepal’s desire for the socio-economic development in sectors such as technology, human resource development, education, communication, road and agriculture.
Ambassador Maeda thanked JAAN for contributing to strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and Japan.
JICA Nepal chief Mizuki Matsuzaki highlighted JICA’s works in over four decades for the social economic transformation of Nepal.
In his presentation. JAAN chair Dr. Ramchandra Bhusal talked about Japanese culture of hard work, honesty and good governance based system and viewed that Nepal could learn a lot from Japanese practices of good governance for its development.
