Kathmandu, Jan 24: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has called on party leaders and cadres to actively engage in their respective constituencies.

In a meeting held today with voters from Sarlahi Constituency No. 4, President Thapa emphasized the importance of being present in election areas ahead of the House of Representatives elections set for March 5. Thapa explained that his decision to contest from Sarlahi is aimed at bringing attention to the Madhes issue in a new light within parliament.

He reaffirmed his dedication to addressing the concerns of both Madhes and Sarlahi in innovative ways, both in the federal parliament and at Singha Durbar. He highlighted that the approach to Madhes issues and the decision-making process over the next five years will be distinct from past practices, urging voters in Sarlahi-4 to make informed choices without regret.

He cautioned against underestimating opponents, stressing the need for vigilance. Leader Thapa acknowledged the challenges of running in a new area and underscored the necessity of collective effort to secure victory in the elections. He encouraged voters and party supporters to participate in the campaign with trust, love, and confidence.

"I have opted for a challenging path rather than an easy one within the party. My five-year expulsion from the party was a significant hurdle, but the backing from party supporters during the special general convention allowed me to return," he stated.

"I have also taken electoral risks by leaving the comfort of Kathmandu Constituency No. 4 for Madhes, and I am confident that this risk will pay off with everyone's support."

President Thapa expressed gratitude to the voters who have elected him three times from Kathmandu Constituency No. 4, assuring them of his ongoing commitment to serve the area.(RSS)
