According to the office, the application process has been reopened after an insufficient number of applications were received during the earlier call.

Police Inspector Kishor Tamang of the District Police Office, Dhankuta, said that there is a shortage of 67 election police personnel.

The deadline for submitting applications has been extended to include Saturday and Sunday.

Applications can be submitted at the District Police Office, Dhankuta; Armed Police Force Nepal, Chhintang, Dhankuta; Area Police Office Chhintang; and Area Police Office Rajarani, Dhankuta.

A total quota of 1,085 election police personnel has been allocated for Dhankuta district.

The government had initially called for applications from January 9 to 15 for election police to be deployed in the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

During that period, only 876 applications were received in Dhankuta, after which the deadline was extended until January 17. The deadline has now been extended for the second time.
