By Thakur Prasad Acharya, Myagdi, Jan 22: Samir Khan and Yasmin Begum, the residents of Beni Municipality-7, have obtained citizenship through mother’s name after a decade of the application.
District administration office, Myagdi provided the citizenship in the name of their mother, Maniraza Begam, after implementation of amendment of Citizenship Act- 2063.
Deputy Chief District Officer, Kul Prasad Acharya said that Shamir and Yasmin have got citizenship in the name of their mother after the 2nd amendment of citizenship Act-2063 and 4th amendment of rule.
Maniraza Begum is a Nepali citizen. She is married to Salim Khan of Calcutta, India. Meanwhile, Salim has renounced the Indian citizenship. He has also voted in the election of Nepal in 2052 B.S and 2064 BS.
Birth date of Samir and Yasmin have been registered in Arthunge Rural Municipality.
