By A Staff Reporter.Kathmandu, Jan. 19: Nepali writer Ranjana Niraula was honoured with the prestigious Kalinga Sahitya (Youth) Award.
The Kalinga Literature Festival, India, conferred the honour on her during the Kalinga Sahitya Mahotsav–2026, held recently in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.
The award and inauguration ceremony was attended by the chief guest and Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, KV Singh Deo; Sri Lankan Minister for Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment, Upali Pannilage; Odisha Minister for Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Suryavanshi Suraj; Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harivansh Narayan Singh; Jnanpith Award winner Dr. Pratibha Roy; and other dignitaries.
The award is presented to individuals from India, South Asia, and around the world who have made outstanding contributions to literature, translation, cultural dialogue, and the encouragement of young voices. Along with Niraula, renowned writers Daisy Rockwell and Achyutananda Pati were also honoured with the award.
