HoR Election: Over 7,000 police to be deployed in Sudurpashchim

Mahendranagar, Jan 17: In preparation for the House of Representatives (HoR) election set for March 5, a total of 7,058 personnel from the Nepal Police will be assigned to ensure security in Sudurpashchim.     

The Provincial Police Office has confirmed that security measures have been established across the 16 constituencies for the election. Gautam Mishra, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Provincial Police Office in Dhangadhi, reported that polling stations have been categorized into three groups normal, sensitive, and highly sensitive based on security assessments, with appropriate security arrangements made for each category.     

He noted that a larger contingent of police and election officers will be stationed at the highly sensitive polling locations. Out of the 1,176 polling stations in the province's 16 constituencies, 300 are deemed normal, 395 are classified as sensitive, and 481 are identified as highly sensitive.(RSS)
