Kathmandu, Jan 17: The Bagmati province government has spent only 8.99 percent of the capital expenditure during the first six months of the current fiscal year 2082/83.
According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, the provincial government has spent about 14.10 percent of the total budget from Shrawan to Poush of the current fiscal year 2082/83. This is 2.17 percent less than the previous fiscal year 2081/82.
During the first six months of the fiscal year 2081/82, the provincial government had spent 16.27 percent of the total budget.
According to Keshab Bhandari, officer at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning of the provincial government, during the first six months of the current fiscal year 2082/83, the provincial government has spent 22.48 percent of the budget on recurrent expenditure and 8.99 percent on capital expenditure.
For the fiscal year 2082/83, the provincial government brought a budget of Rs 67.4 billion, out of which Rs 9.58 billion has been spent in six months.
Among the allocated budgets, the Public Service Commission has the highest expenditure of 36.35 percent, the Office of the Chief Attorney 30.80 percent, and the Provincial Assembly Secretariat 29.35 percent. (RSS)
