Kathmandu, Jan 16: Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has termed the tourism industry as the backbone of the national economy.
Addressing a special programme organized to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the Hotel Association Nepal in Lalitpur on Friday, the Vice President said the tourism industry has its effective role in job creation, cultural exchange, enhancement of country’s international recognition, and strengthening of diplomatic ties.
He also urged the Association to prioritize issues such as sustainable tourism, green economy, digital transformation and international partnerships. Stating that ensuring tourists’ safety, facilities and respect is a collective responsibility, the Vice President echoed the need for environmentally friendly business in the hospitality sector, combined with quality services and the integration of advanced technology.(RSS)
