Presenting a list of numerous national and international achievements attained over 16 years after initiating the global campaign at the public level due to the government not carrying out required works, Global Coordinator of the campaign Ram Kumar Shrestha mentioned that the campaign has already honored over two dozen national and international celebrities. In this context, he stated that renowned Bhagawat Manjari Radhika Dasi has been appointed as the Cultural Ambassador of the campaign in recognition of her active involvement in the global spiritual awakening campaign to reveal the mysteries of Brahman, the universe, and the soul through the Mahapurana, and for participating in the work of rescuing, treating, and providing education to destitute, suffering street children and women through the Radhika Foundation, according to LKGC.
In the program conducted by Dr. Yakendra Timilsina, General Secretary of R2R, Chairman Bhaskar Regmi shed light on the organization’s objectives, presented a list of works carried out by the organization, and handed over the certificate of Patron of the organization to Radhika Dasi.
R2R executive member Prakash Aryal shared that by adopting a policy of involving the new generation in the campaign, guardians voluntarily join spontaneously, and this emotionally connects the new generation with Nepal.
Global Coordinator and advisor of R2R Shrestha informed that R2R has decided to provide 500 dollars to participate and show solidarity in the One Million Tree Plantation and Conservation Campaign run by the Lumbini World Peace Forum, and that R2R Vice Chairman Prakash Lamichhane will participate in the tree plantation program during his visit to Nepal, stated the LKGC.
Renowned story narrator Radhika Dasi shared that she has been practicing Vipassana meditation – the meditation technique adopted by Buddha to attain enlightenment – since the age of 8 and continues it to this day. She mentioned that the Nepal Tourism Board had also made her a Cultural Ambassador and she had conducted a three-day program on a similar topic in Japan. She expressed happiness at being able to join the global campaign related to dismiss misconception on Buddha birthplace all over the world.
Dasi stated that excessive pollution is also generated during plastic production, food kept in plastic containers for a long time becomes harmful, and burning used plastic causes pollution and does not lead to decomposition. Therefore, reusing is the best solution. She mentioned that the objective of the organization is excellent, and the aim of utilizing the funds collected in Australia solely for contributing to the environment sector in Nepal is praiseworthy.
