By Rajan Rawat, Humla, Jan 9: Vehicle fare rate to Kathmandu from Simkot of Humla district has become cheap with the start of the passenger bus services.
Earlier, as there were
only the bolero jeep in operation, travelers were compelled to pay fare as
deemed by, mostly high, the jeep operators.
Dharma Raj Rokaya of
Simkot said that bus service has forced the bolero jeep operators to slash fare
as the fare in bus is comparatively reasonable. One would have to pay as much
as Rs. 10,000 to bolero for travel from Simkot to Nepalgunj, but the bus fare
now is only Rs. 5,500, almost half of the bolero.
The bus operators have
fixed the fare for different places from Simkot to Kathmandu so that no
passenger is cheated or there is any confusion about the fare, said Bishal
Rokaya, chairperson of Humla Hilsa Transport.
The bus fare from Simkot
of Humla to Kathmandu is fixed as Rs. 7,500.
Humla Hilsa has been
operating a bus daily from Simkot to Nepalguj while Batalian bus service has
been operating the bus from Simkot to Kathmandu.
