Kathmandu, Jan 6: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Anil Kumar Sinha, has said that the political environment is improving in the country.
At a workshop for Master Trainers organized by the Election Commission for the House of Representatives Election-2082 today, he said that the election will be held on time as the environment conducive for elections is developing.
He also said that the government is making efforts to raise the morale of the police personnel.
Stating that the demands of the Gen-Z would be fulfilled through amendment to the Constitution, Minister Sinha said that the President had entrusted them with the responsibility of holding the election in difficult circumstances and mentioned that the current government is determined to fulfill that responsibility on time.
Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari said that the Election Commission is working to conduct the election on time and that everyone's support and cooperation is needed to conduct the election. The responsibility of conducting the election peacefully in a fear-free environment lies with the government, the Election Commission and political parties.
He also shared that the government is working to form a joint command force for election security.
The two-day workshop will discuss various aspects related to the election of members of the House of Representatives including among others constitutional and legal arrangements and election programs, election human resource, financial, security management and voter education, disinformation and hate speech, policy arrangements, regulation and control, election code of conduct monitoring and supervision.(RSS)
