By Chandra Pandak, Taplejung Dec 25: The temporary wooden bridge for motor vehicles has been built over the Tamor River located at Phaktanglung Rural Municipality, Taplejung.
The rural municipality has constructed a temporary wooden bridge over the Tamor River due to the lack of a concrete motorable bridge.
A temporary wooden bridge for motor vehicles has been constructed on the Tamor River in Tapethok bagaar, connecting Ward No. 5, Tapethok, the administrative center of the rural municipality, with Ward No. 6, Lelep.
Chairman of Phaktanglung Rural Municipality Rajan Limbu (Mukti) said that a temporary wooden bridge has been constructed on the Tamor River to provide transportation facilities to villages during the current winter season.
The rural municipality chairperson, Limbu, said that the wooden bridge was built to enable commuting, even though road transportation has reached there.
He said that the investment of around Rs 90,000 of the rural municipality was poured into constructing a bridge.
Tamor Energy Pvt. Ltd. has provided an excavator (machine) to help construct the wooden bridge.
Preparations are underway to construct a temporary wooden bridge for motor vehicles on the Chiruwa section of the Tamor River.
This has eased the commute for the locals.
The Phaktanglung rural municipality, considered to be a remote place of the district, has been constructing a temporary wooden motorable bridge previously in the winter season.
Since the area of Phaktanglung Rural Municipality lies on both sides of Tamor, the rural municipality constructs wooden bridges to provide transportation facilities to all wards and villages during the winter season.
