By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec 25: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has viewed that there is a dire need to increase investment in education and end party-based politicization of universities.
Addressing the convocation ceremony of Tribhuvan
University (TU) on Thursday, Prime Minister Karki also highlighted the need of efforts
from all to turn the universities into an arena of intellectual discussion.
She held that the country's higher education was
continuously failing due to unnecessary interference by political parties in
academic administration.
PM Karki said that consultations were held and
preparation were being made after realizing that there is imperative that the
provision to make Prime Minister the canceller of the universities needs to be
changed.
She said there was an urgency to end the situation
wherein Nepali students seek to go abroad for higher education.
