National cricket player Thapa dies in motorcycle accident

By Shashidhar Parajuli, Biratnagar, Dec 25: A national cricket player, Minash Thapa, died when a motorcycle met with an accident at Biratnagar at midnight. 

27-year-old Thapa of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-5 died in a motorcycle accident at 12:45 AM today. 

Thapa, on a motorcycle (Province 1-02-042 Pa 8002), was heading to Bargachhi from the Airport Line of Biratnagr-4, when the bike went out of control, causing an accident, according to the Superintendent of Police (SP) Kabit Katwal of District Police Office, Morang.

He was immediately taken to the Koshi Hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctors. 

Thapa had been playing national cricket for more than nine years, representing Koshi Province.

The family said that he has even participated in some franchise leagues as a batsman for the team.

The family, relatives, and cricket fans are in mourning over the untimely death of the national player.

According to the family, Thapa's father had been missing for about a decade and a half, and he was living with his mother, Tanuja Thapa, and brother, Pradeep Thapa.
