Teenager dies of electric shock in Pakhribas

By Santosh Subedi, Pakhribas, Dec 17: A child died after being electrocuted at Chautara in Pakhribas Municipality-5, Dhankuta. 

He died after being electrocuted by an electric support wire at around 9 am on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as 14-year-old Badal Tamang, of Gairigaun, Pakhribas-5. He had gone to the forest to cut firewood in the morning.

SP Sharat Kumar Thapa Chhetri, Chief of Police at the District Police Office, Dhankuta, said that he died after being electrocuted by a wire buried in the ground to support an electric pole while cutting firewood.

Thapa died on the spot. 

Further investigation into the incident is underway and preparations are underway to take the body to the District Hospital in Dhankuta for a postmortem, the police said
