CIAA moves to Special Court against school principal Thakur

Kathmandu, Dec 15: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a charge sheet against Dhaniklal Thakur, the head teacher of Shankar Janata Secondary School in Duhabi, Bideha municipality-2, Dhanusha. He is accused of misappropriation in the establishment of the ICT lab during the fiscal year 2078-79 BS (2021-22) and in the digital library strengthening initiative, the CIAA said in a press statement today.

Along with Thakur, the then-accountant Arun Kumar Kushiyait also faces corruption charges in the same case. They have been alleged to have committed corruption by abusing their authority. The CIAA has sought recovery of Rs 862,152 from each of them.. 

The charge sheets were filed on Monday. Thakur and Kushiyait, through collusion and planning, misappropriated, caused loss or damage to, and misused government public property. Consequently, the accused have been charged with an offense under Section 17 of the Corruption Prevention Act, 2059 (2002), the CIAA said. (RSS)
