blog

By TRN Online, Humla, Dec 15:  Water taps have been fixed in households of Limatang, Simkot Rural Municipality-3, of Humla district. With this, it has brought ease to the locals.

Local Pema Tshering Lama said that the new drinking water tap has been installed in each and every household of the Limatang, which lies at the highest altitude of the rural municipality.

The repetitive knock of locals for 30 long years for the construction of a drinking water project has finally been realized.

Locals had to fetch water from a water source, 20 minutes away from the settlement, before the water tap installation.

Meanwhile, Palanmu Lama, another local from Limatang Village, said that access to water has now become easier.

Lama said that even though the village is located on a steep slope, there is a sewage system, so the tap water installed in the houses is also drained to the sewer.

There are 39 households in the village.

Water installation in the village saves the time of locals as well as helps with the utilization of water for other purposes, such as irrigating fields.
