NC is responsible national power: General Secretary Thapa

Patan (Lalitpur), Dec 15: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has said the Nepali Congress is a vital and responsible national power in addition to being a political party. 

"The NC is a national power therefore bears national responsibility," Thapa said at a programme organised by Lalitpur District Party Office today. He expressed worry that the country had to compromise many things due to weaknesses of the national force. 

According to him, the NC does not only need power for elections, as the power is needed to give an outlet to the country. The party now needs courage and support, Thapa reminded. 

In the past, the NC lifted the country out of violence and party proved that it is the party that makes the country win even at its defeat. The NC has tried to incorporate all, he mentioned. 

Thapa argued that maintaining good governance and carrying out development activities are the responsibility of the NC, adding time has come again for the same- correcting weaknesses. 

Similarly, NC Lalitpur President Jitendra Kumar Shrestha opined that the party had achieved 56 per cent victory across the districts in local-level election, expressing the belief that the NC would secure addition victories this time. 

Chairperson of Lalitpur metropolitan city-1, Nirmal Tandukar, chairperson of ward 13, Ganesh KC, and individuals Sushil Sapkota, Jitendra Gajurel, among others joined the NC at the programme. (RSS)
