By Our Correspondent, Sindhuli, Dec 14: Budhyauliko Kalam, a collection of hymns and poems written by Durga Devi Dhakal has been made public.
The book released on Saturday is Dhakal’s third creative work.
Authors Ramesh Mohan Adhikari, the president of Budhyauli Sahitya Pratisthan Sindhuli, Shambhu Gajurel, Umanath Shastri Sindhuliya, The President of literary foundation, Tulasi Prasad Dhakal, Senior journalist Shesh Raj Dahal and poet Durga Devi Dhakal made public the book together.
The previous works of Poet Dhakal include Smriti Pustak Premganga (2074) and the collection of poetry Bhusworga Ho Sindhuli (2081 B.S.).
Her collection of reminiscences is fourth coming.
A resident of Dhakal Gaun, Kamalamai Municipality- 4, Sindhuli district, poet Dhakal was born on 27th Mangsir, 2004 BS. She could not receive the opportunity of obtaining school-level formal education. However, she received Sanskrit education at home.
Umanath Shastri Sindhuliya sahityika Pratisthan and Budhyauli Sahitya Samaj Sindhuli jointly organized the program for wishing good health and longevity of poet Dhakal on the auspicious occasion of her 79th birthday respectively. Critic Tulasi Prasad Dhakal made the discussion on the published books and authorial aspects of poet. Poet Dhakal and other poets recited some poems of the book.
Similarly, Poet Januka Anjan Gurung, Shyam Pulami, Krishna Prasad Baral Sukumbasi, Shambhu Gajurel, Lokendra Dahare, Keshab Adhikari Keshab Prasad Phuyal, Gobinda Kafle, Somit Khadka, Somita Khadka and Radhesha Prasad Pokhrel among others recited Gajal and Muktak (lyrics and short poems) in the programme.
