Jumla, Dec 12: Over 4,000 small and cottage industries have been registered in Jumla, the district in the Karnali Province.
According to the Office of Industry and Consumers Welfare Protection, as of now since the last fiscal year, a total of 5,286 industries of various nature were registered in the district and of them 825 were scrapped. Now, the registration of 4461 remains in effect.
Office Chief Mandirnath Yogi said that there are 3,000 commercial industries with investment above Rs 1 million each have been registered at the Office of Industry and Consumer Protection, while 204 new small industries with investment below Rs 300,000 have been registered at the local levels.
In terms of nature, the registered industries are the production-based, agriculture and forest-based, service-oriented, tourism, construction, and information and communication technology, Yogi said. As he said, revenue of Rs 5.2 million was collected the last fiscal year from such industries.
Last fiscal year, the Office had provided various skill skill-based training to 204 people from all eight local levels in the last fiscal year. However, the most of industries registered in the district are not operational.(RSS)
