Kathmandu, Dec 6: The Nepali Embassy in Muscat has organised a programme on labour awareness and financial literacy for Nepali workers and provided the necessary information.
At the programme held on Friday, Nepali workers were informed about the use of artificial intelligence in daily life, ways to stay physically and mentally healthy, the social security fund, activities allowed or not in Oman, workers' awareness, and financial literacy.
Workers were also provided with information for a safe and productive lifestyle at the programme.
A camp for passport and consular services was conducted on the occasion. In a programme aimed at those unable to take leave or coming from distant places, a team of doctors from Al Sama Hospital conducted a free health camp and provided basic health services.
The service recipients expressed happiness that such a grand service (nationwide) programme was organised on a public holiday.
Ambassador Dornath Aryal had informed the programme that the 11th meeting of the Standing Committee on Development Diplomacy was conducted in the presence of representatives of Nepali associations in Oman.
The meeting focussed on the role of the embassy, policy reforms, initiatives by stakeholders for the rescue and welfare of Nepali workers, and advancing programmes to promote tourism, investment, trade, and employment.
The president of the Non-Resident Nepali Social Club, Suresh Khadka, had handed over a memorandum to Ambassador Aryal suggesting the review of the relevant policy. (RSS)
