Expansion of Dhulikhel-Khawa section along Araniko Highway gaining pace

Kavrepalanchowk, Dec 6: Up-gradation of Dhulikhel-Khawa road section along the Araniko Highway in Kavrepalanchowk has gained pace. 

With the signing of contract with the new contractor for stalled road widening works on last month, the task of re-widening has begun. 

According to the Division Road Office, Bhaktapur, the contract was signed with C-NA-1 Kali JV with a deadline to compete the works within 14 months. 

Chief of the office, senior divisional engineer Suman Yogesh informed that the contract of Rs 315.6 million, excluding VAT was signed for this. 

He further shared that blacktopping will be done in the wider area in the first phase by coming mid-April and remaining works will be carried out gradually. 

The re-widening of road has been intensified through 'cutting' in several parts. Travel through the highway has turned tougher for the past three years due to dillydally in the construction works. (RSS)
