Mini-truck veers off road, driver dies on the spot

By Keshab Raj Bhatta, Baitadi, Dec 5: The truck driver died on the spot when a mini truck met with an accident at Kathegaud,  Surnaya Rural Municipality-5.

The mini truck (Bhe 1 Ka 1639) en route to Dhangadhi from Surnaya Rural Municipality-4, Sanseri Mandau, met with an accident at around 12 at night on Thursday, according to the District Police Office, Baitadi.

"Naresh Mahara, aged 29, of Surnaya Rural Municipality-4, a truck driver, died on the spot," said Information Officer and Police Inspector Baldev Badu.

Badu said that only the driver was riding in the truck, which was running empty, and he died on the spot.

Locals had informed the police about the incident at around 8 AM on Friday after seeing the truck lying off the road.

Police said that a police team from Rauleshwor Police Station rushed to the spot as soon as the information was received.
