One dead, 11 injured in bus-truck collision in Saptari

 By Binay Karna, Kalyanpur (Saptari), Oct 5: One died while 11 passengers sustained injuries when a bus and a truck collided head-on in Kanchanrup Municipality of Saptari district.

A 50-year-old passenger died when a passenger bus with the registration (02-001 Kha 0287) en route from Janakpur to Kakarbhitta on the East-West Highway Baramjhiya, Kanchanrup Municipality-2, and a truck (Na 3 Kha 4402) coming from the opposite direction collided with each other on Thursday night. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhav Prasad Kafle of the Area Police Office, Kanchanpur, said that the name and address of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.

The injured are undergoing treatment at various hospitals, according to the Area Police Office, Kanchanpur.  11, including an Indian national, have been injured in the accident. 

 55 passengers were on board. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Kafle said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
