Int'l cultural exchange expo begins

By A Staff Reporter.Kathmandu, Nov. 10: International Cultural Exchange Exhibition 2025 titled Smile for Smile began in coordination with the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Art Project International G2 GINZA Gallery, Japan, and Bindu Space for Artists in Kathmandu on Friday.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Narad Mani Hartamchhali, Chancellor of the Academy. Inaugurating the event, Hartamchhali said that art is the language of the world and a medium for cultural exchange.

Former Chancellor of the Academy and veteran artist Kiran Manandhar said that, like science and technology, art has also been achieving significant milestones. Artist Saurganga Darshandhari highlighted that such art exhibitions help in understanding various dimensions and aspects of art.

Director of Art Project International, G2 GINZA Gallery, Japan, Tamaki Kano expressed happiness and excitement to organise such an art exhibition in Nepal.

Artworks representing Nepal, Japan, South Korea, and Germany are being showcased in the exhibition. 

Nepali artists, including Anil Shahi, Binod Limbu, Krishna Lama, Manorama Khatri, Pramila Bajracharya, and others, are participating in the exhibition.

Likewise, Japanese artists, including Mayumi Izawa, Kenji Inoue, Shigeko Uchida, Akemi Eguchi, Masayo Okawa, Keiko Okano, Kofu Kano, Shuko Kano, Shoto Kano, Sekai Kano, Senku Kano, Souryu Kano, Takushu Kano, Riei Kano, Ryuko Kano, Mariko Kawai, Aiko Kurebayashi, Masami Shimoda, Soul Mandala Nao, Makoto Tanaka, Sachiko Tamashima, and others artworks are being showcased in the exhibition.

From South Korea, GuGu Kim, TTODOA, and Kang Seo Woo are participating, while Eberhard Ross and Gabriele Musebrink represent Germany. The exhibition will continue until November 13.
