Kathmandu, Nov 4: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged the government to actively engage in creating an atmosphere conducive to elections.
While obtaining a second copy (duplicate/Pratilipi) of her citizenship certificate from the Kathmandu District Office today, the former Head of State advised the government and relevant authorities to focus on building an election-friendly environment.
"The government should focus on ensuring that the upcoming election is conducted in a violence-free and systematic manner. The security forces should search for the arms snatched from the police and confiscate them," she said.
Former President Bhandari obtained the duplicate copy of her citizenship certificate after losing the original during the arson at her home during the Gen Z demonstration on September 9.
Kathmandu's Chief District Officer, Ishwor Raj Paudel, handed her the second copy of the citizenship certificate. (RSS)
