Pregnant teenager airlifted to rescue

 By Jaya Man Budha Magar, Rukum East, Nov.4: A pregnant woman has been rescued by helicopter from Maikot, Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality -1, Rukum (East).

A 15-year-old pregnant woman from Maikot was rescued by helicopter at 9:45 AM on Tuesday.

An expecting teenager mother was brought to the Health post, Maikot, at 4 AM on Tuesday after having a severe fever. 

Kalibhan Bista, co-coordinator of the Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality Health Branch, said when the health workers at the health post at Maikot examined the patient, they found that her condition was critical. After that, the information was conveyed to the Chief District Officer and others for referral via helicopter.

Bista said that the baby is due in the month of Mangsir (end of November).

 Bista said that the patient is showing symptoms of excessive abdominal distension, tremors, and fainting.

Chief Administrative Officer of Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality Dhruv BK said that the teenager was sent from Maikot to the Provincial Hospital in Surkhet via a Nepali Army helicopter under the President's Women Upliftment Program.

On behalf of the rural municipality, Chief Administrative Officer BK has thanked everyone who took the initiative and supported the rescue.
