CPN (UML)'s 11th National Congress to be held in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Nov 1: The 11th National Congress of the CPN (UML) is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu.     

The party secretariat meeting held today in Gundu, Bhaktapur, and presided over by Chairman KP Sharma Oli, decided to hold the National Congress in Kathmandu instead of Pokhara, according to UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali.     

The UML's Central Committee meeting held in Kathmandu from October 15 to 17 had decided to hold the general convention in Pokhara from December 13 to 15.     

Earlier, the party's Ninth National Congress was also held in Kathmandu, while the 10th National Congress was held in Chitwan on November 26-28, 2021.     

Around 2,100 reps to attend the 11th Congress     

Around 2,100 delegates are expected to participate in the party's 11th National Congress.     

Deputy General Secretary Gyawali said that today's Secretariat meeting decided on the criteria for selecting representatives for the 11th National Congress, with about 2,100 representatives expected to participate.     

He stated that representatives will be selected across the country on the same day, November 29, for the Congress.     

According to Deputy General Secretary Gyawali, there will be 354 representatives from the Central Committee, 29 from the Disciplinary Commission, 30 from the Central Audit Commission, and 25 each from the Central Election Commission and the Central Advisory Council.     

Similarly, about 900 participants will take part from the House of Representatives electoral constituencies, the district committees, and provincial committees.(RSS)
